Basic needsYou will need about 1 ½ tons of rock for an area roughly 10 feet by 15 feet. You will also need a supply of ¼ inch chips, gravel, or crushed stone to act as mulch around your rock plants. Whatever rock mulch you use, be sure that it blends rather than contrasts with the surrounding rocks.
